Two disciplines, one glasshouse.
OwlHours is an independent studio working in two directions at once: rendering tools for Unity, and small, considered games about the spaces people live in. They don't look alike on the surface, but they come from the same place — a fascination with light, glass, and the difference between a space that's merely furnished and one that's actually lived in.
UI Blur Pro for URP is about the physics of that idea: how light scatters through a frosted pane, rendered correctly and cheaply on modern hardware. Room to Bloom is about the human side of it: what makes a room feel like somewhere a person would actually want to be.
Why both
Most studios pick a lane. OwlHours didn't, mostly because the alternative felt dishonest — the same curiosity that leads to tuning a blur kernel at 2am leads to arguing about whether a rented apartment needs a rug. Building both, in the open, side by side, is the more truthful version of the studio than picking one and pretending the other doesn't matter.
What's next
UI Blur Pro for URP is shipped and supported on the Unity Asset Store, with a Lite edition planned as a follow-up. Room to Bloom is in active development, alongside early concept work on a second, still-untitled game. Updates on both land first on the contact page and this site's changelog pages.
